My Home Town NEWS IBA, ZAMBALES New Hospital At last after so many years, the people of Zambales now have a modern hospital. Through the initiative of our First Lady Dr. Loi E. Estrada and the leadership of our Governor Vicente P. Magsaysay the Pres. Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital underwent a major renovation inside and out. Equipment from Japan will be arriving soon to compliment the existing equipment. We now have air-conditioned privates rooms. Cellular Phones Invades Zambales With the new technology of GSM, two cellular network service provider have installed their cell site. The Smart Phil. has laid four cell sites in the province, these are in Subic, Sn. Narciso, Iba, and Masinloc. The provider which is Globe Phils. put their cell sites at Botolan, Masinloc and somewhere in southern Zambales. The new cell sites put Zambales up into the GSM technology. Aug 20, 00 Mini 4WD The Mini 4WD started appearing here in Zambales. Boys of all ages have started this new hobby, in fact they will have an official race this coming Aug 28, 2000 in time for the Fiesta of the Patron Saint of Iba, Zambales. Aug 28, 00 1st Official Race of mini 4WD The first official race of mini 4WD were held in the Zambales Sports Complex here in Iba, Zambales. There were over one hundred entries for the two division, the stock and modified division. The organizer of the race is Robert Huang. Aug 28, 00 Feast of St. Augustine. The Feast of the St. Augustine, the patron saint of the town went up smoothly as usual heavy rain but intermittent poured. We have lots of shows from Aug 25 to 28, different show were conducted and presented to the people of Iba.
